Chase Ink Plus Reconsideration Advice Needed

Hey y'all,

I applied for the Chase Ink Plus on Thursday 1/19/17 because it looked like the refferal links were about to die. My application originally went to pending 30 days. Then I called the automated phone number and got the dreaded 7-10 business day message. I'm currently at 4/24, which will drop down to 3/24 when I call them for recon in early February. I opened the CSR on 10/31/16 and the CFU on 12/27/16. I know the rule is that you should only apply for one Chase card every 30 days, but I didn't want to risk losing the option to get the card all together.

Another issue is the business. It's a startup with $0 revenue (yet!) so on my application, I was honest and put $1 revenue, because $0 was not an option. I have a business plan, some leads, and some projections but not much.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do for my reconsideration call?

Thanks,

Eric

I doubt the 4/24 or 3/24 matters much on this. Are you waiting for the letter? If so just call them once you receive it and work thru the reasons they list. Please do speak up on a startup business, don't go too deep just it's new, You like their product for the new business purchases and that mess. If they ask about projections be realistic. You're not getting audited so whatever you say either works and you get it or you get declined again.

As long as your scores look good, you pay your bills with Chase and not over 5/24 then this will only be about your business activities. They may want to know how much you plan on spending on the card monthly.

Good luck!

Yes I am waiting for the letter. I know never to call them before I get a letter in the mail.

Thank you for the advice and the good luck. I'm actually working on a document that goes point by point through the questions they are likely to  ask me. It's actually kind of thrilling in a weird way.

I have a feeling that this is an auto denial and likely no matter what you said to recon, it wont work... at least this is from what I read so far online.

Typically it's hard for ink products with Chase. If you applied for anything 1 month prior before applying for ink, it will be denied. Anyway... hopefully we could hope for exceptions. The other option is to apply again in Feb and hope for the best if Ink plus is still around.

Even if I call recon after it has been more than 30 days after my last card? Do you have any data points for your comment?
