Quill Net 30

After a couple of orders with Quill I emailed Customer Service to ask how to apply for Net 30. The reply seems to assume that I hadn't placed any orders yet:

It is not necessary to fill out a credit application prior to ordering
from Quill. At the time you place your first order we will verify
the name on the account, bill to and ship to address.  We generally set
our business customers up on account - net 30 days; however, we also
accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  If there are
additional questions our Credit Department will contact you.

Their Credit Dept. hasn't contacted me yet.

If someone has recent experience obtaining Net 30 with Quill, could you share whether you were automatically screened for eligibility after placing your first order, how long the process took, and how you found out the results? Thanks!

Re: Quill Net 30

Here a few caveats with Quill and it may or may not work out in your favor.

This will work.  If all you want is a positive tradeline on DNB, do this:

After you have placed your first order, call up and place your next order(s) instead of placing it online.

When you place the order over the phone, you can ask to be invoiced.

Place your order around the last week of the month, order more than $100, pay it after the 1st.

Don't order any technology stuff or high dollar items.

They love to sell you and upsell you paper products, especially print/copy paper.

The invoice option may or may not start showing up online after that, but they will certainly report.

It might even report as a cash account and that's okay on DNB.

If you want to place orders online and choose to be invoiced...

You can call up and ask to have the invoice option turned on for online ordering...

This is where you poke the bear.

You will now go thorugh verification.

Make sure you have a verifiable business phone number.

Make sure you have a real business address (billing and shipping)

If any of those  are not a verifiable commercial phone number or address, you may encounter a problem.

Just be pleasant and nonchalant.

If they tell you to pay with a credit card, just do it and follow the above instructions next time.

You have been warned.

I am speaking from experience(s).

Quill reports for me: I buy TP, Paper Towels and Garbage bags for the office from them every 3 months.
