Hello,
I am currently working towards establishing business credit. I established an account with Uline a couple of months back and they are currently reporting to D&B. So far I have two TL. I want to open another account. Can someone please suggest a company for me to open an account with that does not require a PG? Thanks!

Hi, tmp1103. Welcome to the forums!
Try Staples. It's backed by Citi. And if you get that card, then go for other Citi-backed business cards.
Hopefully, this info is not out of date.
Good luck with everything! ![]()

Hi uborrow-upay!
I actually tried staples when I first established my business and was denied
. Do you think I should try again now that I have 2 TL reporting? Thanks!

Might be worth a shot, temp1103.
Do you have a separate business phone line? That seems to help with many apps. It establishes you as someone seriously in business.
I'd give Staples another try. But that's just me.
Good luck with everything! ![]()
P.S. Don't fill out the PG section. Go with the biz info only, and do it in-store, if possible.

I will let you know how staples turns out. Do you think it would be a good idea for me to try to apply for an AMEX green charge card. I dont want to get into credit cards.

Stay away from Amex. Staples, yes it is worth a shot but ideally I would like you to have atleast 2 more trade lines - try Seton (net 10 the always give), Graingers (fill there online app. & ask to be invoiced), azsnacks.net (even pre pays report). Than after a month try Staples. Uborrow-Upay is right - fill their store app and i say fax it in with the invoices of Uline, your biz phone bill or/& office lease - (over kill strategy). They sometimes ask for additional information if you just give them the basic - by sending everything upfront you will be in better position in my opinion. Staples is backed by Citibank and that will put you a step closer to Citibank unsecured card (as will Shell Gas card ).
Keep us posted.

The nice thing about Business Credit is INQ do not hurt you like they can on personal credit... I would apply for Staples every 30 days until you get it and keep in mind they have underwriting reps you can get on the phone and talk to and a lot of times push them over to give you something to start out and show you are going to be a great risk.
