I was approved for the AMEX Green about 3 months ago. Used it heavily, no issues. So I decided to pull the trigger for the Amex Delta since I've read on here it's the"easiest" Revolver to get. Approved! CL is $1,000 which seems to be common from what I've seen on here. My ultimate goal is to get the BCE so I need some advice. Should I wait until AFTER I see if I can get the CLI in 61 days to apply for the BCE? Or should I use the Delta, see if I can get CLI's and then after about six months or so apply for the BCE? Also, what seems to be the best usage to better my chances of being approved for the CLI? PIF? Keep a low balance? This is my 1st experience with an AMEX Revolver so that is why I'm asking. Want to be in the best position possible! :-)
Also, I definately plan to close the AMEX Green in a year before the Annual Fee because I do not really need a charge card. I'm currently using it to run some utilities through each month to keep it active. I just wanted to get my foot in the door and establish history with AMEX to get a Revolver.

Maybe they will let you PC it instead to the card you want.

I don't think anyone can definitiveely answer that and we can only provide anecdotal evidence. However, it varies depending on one's credit as well. It does not hurt to use it and PIF. Some get CLI's while carrying a balance but if you're trying to maximize your odds I'd suggest PIF'ing.

I got a 2k limit on delta, then applied for BCE five days later an got. 7k limit. Nothing had changed on my report. If you reD these forums, it's a pretty common theme that the first approval by amex is 1 or 2k and then the next is significantly more even if done very close together. PerhAps just close the green and app for BCE in the next few days. Since you are already a cardmember I think it's unlikely you would be denied.
Not too different here. Applied for the Delta Gold card first and was approved for 5K, then got the BCP about 6 weeks later and they gave me a 8.1K limit on that. Yes, you can PC...but then you lose out on the joining bonus. (unless you don't plan on keeping the Delta card long term in which case go ahead and PC)
