So last week the date for my 6 month CLI came around and I *stupidly* initially requested to go from $14,500>$21,500 which resulted in a 7-10 day message. When I called the rep asked me to send in income verification, etc. which wasn't going to work because I am going abroad tomorrow and wouldn't receive the paperwork in time to fill out within their 60 window. I called and canceled the CLI request. I did a little math and realized that $21,500 + the $14,900 on my Amex Delta puts me just over the internal $34,000 Amex limit that others have talked about here.
So...this morning I logged on and requested a CL of $16,500 and voilà--instant approval! I know that $2,000 doesn't seem like much, but it will help on my util with this card as it is hands down the one I use the most as I usually spend about $2,000/month on it. So yay!
Congrats !!
Any CLI is a good CLI
Congrats on the CLI. Thanks for sharing this interesting experience.
