Re: Approved for Freedom-Denied Discover

My credit score is fair, and I just got approved for a $5,500 credit line.  Also, 5K from Chase Freedom.  For the person whom relayed they were declined with e 800, plus credit score, I would use the backdoor number and discuss.  Would very well have been an error in the application.

Looking on building my credit about 700...wish me luck

Are you going to call Discover?? Why waste an INQ proably over just verifying info??

I think maybe I will Quit while I am a head.

I went from no credit at all to way more than I need.

You got a 30 day message right? That sounds like verifying info...I got that on my forward, called in and all they needed was a phone number! I was instantly approved for 3k (6x my highest limit at the time). So go for it! Its one call, and discover is great! The nicest CRs I've ever dealt with.

I paid in full and just let one card report 2%.

That seemed to get the highest bump 2% usage reporting.

If you need to use more credit you can make multiple payments before the due date.

I did that often but never more than tree payments a month.

You will see your scores rise quickly.

call the recon line for Chase Sapphire, they don't like opening two accounts on the same day but you can talk them into it, if you have a checking with them use that as your leverage people have reported they didn't know you had one unless you tell them. I was able to recon no problem. Got both on same day with much less score than you =)

UPDATE:

OK This is a bit overwhelming !!

I went to the Chase Site this evening and was checking my account and noticed that my newly approved Freedom account was all set up.

Before I leave the site I see the Chase Saphire Prefered card image all sparkly and Beckoning so I figure what the heck and clicked on it. (This is the Card I really wanted to begin withTo my surprise this time it allows me to fill out the application unlike this afternoon.

I hit the Apply button and INSTANT APPROVAL !!

I nearly spit water all over my MacBook Pro !

Here is the real crazy part......... my Credit Limit is (Drum Roll).................. $17,000.

That's not a Typo Seventeen Thousand Dollars.

I am going into the garden, locking the gate behind me and throwing the key down the well.

I think I need a drink.....(and I don't even drink)

Thanks Everyone it has been one Hell of a journey.

Congrats!!!  Didn't I tell you that you'd be pleasantly surprised!  I knew it'd be instant approval with a big limit!  I am very happy for you!
