Approved for Merrill+ Visa Signature card!

Got the 30 day message after calling in and applying, was anxious and decided to call the backdoor number. After a few questions was quickly approved for the card with a $25,000.00 starting limit which the senior credit analyst said would be able to grow to meet my needs over time.

With Merrill Lunch customer service, no forex fees, emv technology, visa signature benefits, generous credit lines, no annual fee, flexible rewards program, this seems to be one of the better value cards out there! If you spend $50,000 per year on the card you get free lounge access, amongst other benefits. This seems to be a great benefit package that few people know about. You don't have to be a Merrill Lynch or Bank of America customer in order to apply either!

Re: Approved for Merrill+ Visa Signature card!

Thanks! I'm currently battling with the Capital One Executive office to increase my credit limit and to get me the world mastercard version of the Quicksilver rewards card. They increased my limit from 750.00 to 2,500.00 last week, but it's still a joke limit compared to the other accounts I have. Hopefully I can get that sorted out and then into the garden I go for a long, long time!

I'm more than happy to give other advice these cards

Re: Approved for Merrill+ Visa Signature card!

 A many congrats to you! Funny you brought this up as last night and today I've been researching that card and trying to figure out how I can utilize it with my current setup.  Beats the hell of of the duck card if it's just tradeline you're looking for let alone the benfits.  Oh do I call them now...

Quick thought-do you know which CRA they used? Another person had mentioned TU.  If you don't mind sharing your income, I'd be curious to see where I'd fall ($80k and 781 TU)

AmEx Gold (NPSL) | CSP ($12k) | BCE ($24.5k) | PenFed Platinum Rewards ($50k) | Merrill Lynch PP ($15k) | US Bank Cash Plus ($19.5k) | Citi Best Buy ($8k) | CapitalOne QuickSilver ($6k)

01/13-12/13 Tradelines: $10,100 -> $69,900 Thank you myFico!

Just did a CLI on my Merrill + card; they pulled TU.  Also did a CLI on my BofA Cash Rewards card (actually did this one first).  One pull/TU for both and a $10K increase!  They also pulled TU for me when I initially applied for the Merrill + card.

Re: Approved for Merrill+ Visa Signature card!

I'm actually not sure which they pulled for my application. My income is around yours, but I own stock in an S corporation that is quite valuable. What really helped me was last year getting the Amex BCP wit h a starting credit limit of 12,000.00. After 3 months I asked for and was granted a cli up to 24,000.00. Being able to talk to a senior credit analyst over the phone during the Merrill Lynch application was key and he said they will start me out with a 25,000.00 limit that can very flexibly grow to meet my future needs.

They want to know that a customer will make it one of, if not the, primary spending cards. It's hard to argue against adding the Merrill+ card to your repitoire with no annual fee either.

Re: Approved for Merrill+ Visa Signature card!

I really want them to pull TU for me because I live in an Ex region I doubt I'd be so lucky. Planning to app for this in a few months. Last month, all CS were between 715-7445 but by then I'll have 3 more accts age to another year.
