Barclaycard Rewards Mastercard APPROVAL - even with lots of INQs!

 

Hey all - just as a data point , I got a "pre-selected" mailer on 8/19 for the Barclay Rewards MC and decided what the heck, I'll apply.  Would be my first MC (well, 2nd, but I closed the worthless Best Buy MC a while ago).

 

I have a 730 TU score, and 6 inquiries in the last 9 months (including 7 new TL's in that time period).

 

Got the 7-10 day message, figured it meant I was declined.  Called their "Credit Analysis" backdoor # around 6 PM that same night to see if I could answer any questions for them, but they were closed for the day.

 

Well, I got an e-mail yesterday morning telling me I was APPROVED!  I'm pretty surprised actually, after what I've read about them being inquiry-sensitive.  Figured I'd wait for the actual card to find out my credit limit, butttt I got kind of impatient today, so I called the 1-888 number and it is $7,500 Smiley Happy
