CHASE FREEDOM approved today :) after freedom & discover it rejection

I've been lurking in this forum for past month and I was ready to put a post about what I should do exactly regarding recon after denial (I had some idea!)

I was really new to this whole credit history & card and such..

 

I only had BoA debit card and was an authorized user under my dad's credit card, which I just found out that it had no impact on my credit history whatsoever.

 

So I literally had very very limiting credit history, in fact, only things that showed up in my credit history were two of my student loans. Unfortunately, I had couple late payments... actually both were being deferred at the time of my application, so litterally nothing on my report lol.

 

after discover rejected me and notified me I had credit score of 582.... I had no idea mine was that low. Then I went to Chase, got rejected there..

 

 

But long story short, I got my first personal CREDIT CARD for $4,500 credit limit today! WOOHOO! (No idea how this happened, this forum led me to believe that Chase requires excellent credit & history).

 

 

Anyways, thank ya'll for these wonderful forum, I think I got myself a good deal because of this.
