I applied for a Capital One card in December and was given a $300 limit. They sent the card and letter stating they would increase my limit after paying my bill for 5 months on time. When I called in April they told me that my limit would increase to $500 after the first five month. Logged on to my account when they said my bill was ready for review and low and behold my limit was increased to $2,300! I was so excited as I sparingly used their card since the limit was only $300. Now I have a little wiggle room on the usuage. Most things I've read here says they are stingy with their increases. I must've hit it at the right time!!! Super excited.
