Hi guys, I just got denied by Chase Freedom, I thought I'd apply because of all the success I've seen lately.
I was denied for:
Length of time on accounts that have been established (1 year 3 months)
Too many inquiries in the last 12 months (2, 1 from a credit union to open an account and one from Amex)
Balances too high compared to credit limites (20% utilization)
My question is, is it worth trying to recon this? I kind of expected the denial because my low history
They pulled EX and said my score was 728.

I'd say its worth a shot!! As long as you can explain the 20% util.
A lot of people have luck with Chase on recon so definitely give them a call. Moreso than other creditors I've seen. Good luck!
I spoke to a rep, she said it will remained denied and was unable to over turn.. oh well. Guess I won't be applying to any cards for a year or so.. stupid pre approval letters giving me hope. Guess it's gardening for me for a year or two
Thanks for your time guys!

Might be a good thing to opt-out as well...................
I don't mind those letters, I usually just toss them anyways. I really wanted to get a second card started so I can have at least 2 cards to help with my AAoA later on. But I really don't want any more hard inquires on my EX. Seems like no one pulls EQ or TU :/

Try for a GE store account (JCP, Old Navy) they primarily pull TU.

You should call to recon again. Chase can take up to 3 calls before successful recon. Call them again tomorrow. Don't give up. Don't waste the HP!
+1
Wow, that seems really sensitive. 2 INQs is nothing. Your AAoA is on the lower side but I got a Freedom with relatively low AAoA (less than 2 years). I would definitely call in for a recon.
