I was denied by NASA FCU for too much available revolving credit and too many new accounts.
However, I was instantly approved for the DCU plat Visa for 4k.
I am a little disappointed with the limit. I'm not sure if there's a way to recon the limit or not but if not I can always go back for a CLI later.
I also closed my Chase Amazon card today and moved the 2k over to Freedom bring it up to 6.5k. They said the account wasn't eligable to upgrade to the signature version for some reason. I'll probably just wait a month or two and try to upgrade it again.
Been a busy day! I can't wait to see the effects on my scores... I think I am done for awhile. The only plans I have for the future will be adding CSP this winter.
DCU is one of the best out there, they are also very genres with CLI.
Grats.

This is what I'm hoping... I usually use HHI when applying, but the Credit Unions always want personal income so it makes it harder to get the higher limits. 4k isn't bad but I'm hoping after 6 months of usage I might be able to get that up into the 5 digit range.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on your approval! Thanks for sharing. I understand completely regarding the limit they started me at 3k and I was like huh... so just wait and eventually you'll get a preapproval for a CLI. That was a good experience for me.. went to 10k and they even did an APR reduction at same time. You'll get it!

Good to know someone else walked the same path and was successful.
Did you try to recon your original limit?
Is recon even possible?
How long before you got the CLI preapproval?
Did said preapproval just show up on your account somewhere?
I don't even have a membership number yet. I've been trying to upload paystubs, but there's no option available on the loan to upload documents. I guess they will eventually call me. If not I will call them tomorrow.
Most of DCU's Instant approvals still need to be manually reviewed, in many cases I have seen their system "Instant Approve" applications, then a day or so later the status will change to pending, and then either a final approval with no or some conditions, or just a flat out decline! The first thing you should do, is open up a membership account, and then check on your status? Once you see the word "Funded" under the approval status, then you will know that your loan has been booked, and your card is getting mailed out.

Whoa!! So instant approval doesn't mean approved?! Yikes!
I already opened the membership share and free checking as soon as I saw the approval. Wow, I hope I don't get declined upon manual review. That would suck!
congrats
Congratulations on your approval, I also read about how fast their limits grow. Nice card
