Dad's 3,000 Cap1 Credit Steps CLI

So I've been rebuilding my credit for a bit and decided to help my dad. We both applied for Cap1 cards and both got approved. I was approved for 750 and he was approved for 500. When our credit steps cli kicked in I got bumped up to 1250 and he got bumped up to 3500!!! A bit jealous but happy for him.

Difference is I filed for Ch. 7 bankruptcy late 2011, and his credit file was empty.

Cap One will do that especially you both have two totally different profiles. Congrats on the increases!

Re: Dad's 3,000 Cap1 Credit Steps CLI

My DH got the Green Rewards card last June with 2k limit. C1 sent a letter saying he would get a $500 increase after 6 months. In December, I checked his account and found that they increased his limit to 4k. A great Christmas present.

Wow! That is super nice! I'm jealous! They said $500 added to my $2000 and I checked and it was $2500...Boo!

It was hilarious....my DH thought they had screwed up his account.

Not a problem!

I just heard from my dad, he tells me he received an invitation for an Amex green. Guess I am putting him in the right direction.

Re: Dad's 3,000 Cap1 Credit Steps CLI

Just curious when you got your credit step letter when you first got the card is that the limits they said they would go up to ? Or did they give him more ?
