I've been trying to talk my 19 yo cousin into getting his credit history started! After some nagging, I talked him into applying for a discover IT student card. He has zero credit history, basically nothing on his file (I doubt he has a file/score). No AU, nor any student loans.
Was asked to submit proof of ID and student enrollment. Pleasantly surprised to find out he's been approved with a $500 CL. Great start and awesome that Discover is allowing him to start his credit history with nothing on file!

I was approved for a student card with them of $1000. They seem to be rather lenient when it comes to students/young people with little to no credit file/experience.
