HSBC/Cap1 merger cli request

Hi all!
My 300$ HSBC secure card was switched to Cap1 unsecured earlier this year and the 300 returned and I'll be receiving my cap1 card this week. Has anyone had any success requesting a Cli on the new card since the merger?

You have to go through the executive office for a CLI 'until the (completed) merger is complete'.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Re: HSBC/Cap1 merger cli request

Thanks Bernhardtra!

I put together a letter to the EO and saved it. I went ahead and pressed the luv button for that account and got the 7-10 day and spent $15 on the card and bought one of my Fico scores. I hadn't used it for 7 months and had read they may decline for not utilizing the card. So considering it's (from what I've read) a soft pull, there seemed no harm in trying. All else fails I'll be sending the email to the EO soon after.

Re: HSBC/Cap1 merger cli request

Just an update on an old post. The Cap card increased to 1k after a call to the Exec office. It's rate is a 7.9% so in December I'll move 4k from the other Cap1 to this card and ill be happy with my Cap1 cards. :-) ... For now!
