Do you mind me asking which Cap1 card your husband has? My BF has 2, both new. One with a 300 CL and the other a 500 CL. We would love an increase like that in the future!
@fncbdy1 wrote:I just have to tell the forum about this because OMG!!! The DH has had his cap 1 card for abt 6 months now, 300 CL. When he got the card the paperwork said automatic cli after 5 on time payments. So after reading abt cap 1 cards here i was waiting for 500 or 750 tops. Imagine our surprise when he got online yesterday and his available credit was 3150.00. OMG!!!!! Needless to say we did the happy dance all day!!! and we still have 12 months no interest!!!! i can't believe he got a 3000.00 cli, i am blown away!
Thanks I just had to share!!!
I'm not 100% sure, all i know is it is unsecured and interest free for 18 months. I thought it was credit steps because the invitation said something about rebuilding his credit. Also I cant see a credit rebuider getting that kind of increase.
What steps did you take for the increase? Did you email the executive office? If so, can you PM the email address?
We didn't do anything, thats just what they gave him. His letter said he would get a cli after 5 on time payments. We made sure the payments were made on time. It started at 300.00, charged abt 250.00 a month, paid no less than 200.00, woke up one morning with 3300.00 in available credit. He was also just approved for a best buy store charge card with 2k limit. Denied for the master card version because his credit is only a little over a year old. They pulled EQ and his score is 668.
wow..cap1 is weird lol.
Congrats to DH...that is quite a jump ... way to go!
I just had a similar increase. I started out 6/11 with the usual $500 CL, and it got bumped to $750 automatically a few months later. I logged on today and was just a bit surprised to see a CLI to $2,250.
Interestingly, although I had previously used the card heavily, I hadn't been using my CapOne card very much recently; the 0 APR on the Slate and the cashback on the Discover made both options more attractive than the CapOne.

Is that june 11th or June 2011? Got my card in end of May and haven't seen any movement so I was just curious.
