Clicked on the cli luv button today on my Banana Republic card and was instantly approved for $1900 ➡ $2700. Then noticed that under the "rewards and benefits" tab, I was eligible for a BR Visa upgrade. I've had this card since March '10. Since I just got the cli online today, should I wait to upgrade or just go ahead and do it now? If I do upgrade, will my cli be the same or higher? I've read conflicting things about whether an upgrade here will equal a new TL. I guess I'll keep the same account history but it will report to be a new TL which will have a negative effect in my aaoa. Thoughts?
If its going from a store card to a Visa then it should be a new TL.

It will be a new account. AFAIK you should get another CLI with the upgrade.
I wonder if upgrades reset the 'clock' for CLI's? Assuming the upgrade is in between CLI's
It should, but anything can happen calling Credit Solutions.

Well, what do you know. I guess the upgrade wasn't meant to be. Earlier today, before the cli posted, the visa upgrade option was clearly there. Fast forward a few hours, after the cli has posted, the visa upgrade option has disappeared under the very same "rewards and benefits" tab! No biggie but come on! Talk about a teaser!
So it was accept the upgrade or get a CLI? 😦
