Had my card now for six months and noticed a auto cli from $300 to $800

Lucky^ My sister requested one and it was a HP and they couldnt increase it. It was upsetting but oh well. Congrats on your automatic cli tho.

i just posted in another thread. I havent even got my card yet and they increased it from 100 to 300 on the first transaction. They did the same to my bloomingdales card. It went from 200 to 800 CLI on the first transaction. granted i never charged more than 20 dollars on both cards just to test them out but i was shocked they bumped them up that quick.

Update.

Got my card in 02/2011. Used it when it was opened. PIF soon after. 03/2013 I noticed the limit went down to $100. I called yesterday and they have no record of my account. I confirmed they closed it. Probably due to no activity. Can't reopen without reapplying.

Called Macys about the increase on the 15 month old account. Increased with no credit pull (as far as I know since the conversation took literally less than 1 minute) from $500 to $1200! This is now my highest CL to date!!! WOOOHOOO!

CORRECTION. Just used a backdoor to EXP and found MACYS hard inquiry!!! GRRRR. She did not even asked me if she could pull my report! WTH?!

Congrats!! Well hey at least it was worth it, my sister did one with a HP and still no increase.

I've had my Macy's card for 3 months and my limit started at $300. I do shop there quite often so I charged close to $300 each of the 3 months I've had the card and always PIF. I noticed that Macy's softed me on EQ on 4/27. I called in around 5/5 and requested an increase. Rep said it would be a soft pull, asked income and approved for $2000.

I have a feeling that if you see Macy's softing you, odds are a CLI will be a soft pull. I'm assuming they used the soft pull that was initiated by them on 4/26 because I don't see an additional soft from them after that date.

$300-$2000 is a BIG ONE Congrats. Ive also seen that if you pass your current CL they will increase it since you are needing for that what they gave you.

I don't think Macy's always bases CLI's on pulls;  they must just use history sometimes, because I got the 6-month auto CLI and I don't see any SP's.  I only see the HP's from back when I applied.
