NFCU Approval Question

I applied for Nav Check this morning. I didn't get instant approval, I got the 1 hour message.  Within 10 minutes I received an email stating I was approved.

I asked for $7k because I already have a cash rewards visa and the initial CL was $7k, so I figured I was eligible for that amount and would get instant approval.

I have read on this board to ask for the max and let NFCU counter.  At this point is asking for more a good idea?

YES, send a secure message online saying after thinking about it, you would like to see if they could raise the limit to $15k.
