So, I went to Chase today to deposit my paycheck and the teller tells me I've been pre-approved for a credit card, but didn't tell me which one. So I got curious and decided to check out what I got approved for and talked to the banker. Basically the banker pulls out the chart with all of Chase's top credit cards and tells me to pick one. I was stunned, since not too long ago, I had applied for CSP and was denied! I ultimately picked the Chase Freedom and had them move 3.5k from my Chase Amazon card to get it over 5k and thus my first Visa Sig! I've had a great 2 months (3 Amex cards last month!) and now its time to garden. BTW, thanks to everyone on these forums, there is just so much valuable information for college student like me!
Did they confirm it was a Visa Sig? I've heard you had to have the Freedom open for 13 months before they will allow it to be a Signature Card
I asked the banker and he said it would be a Visa Sig.
that's awesome, my father has a freedom that has been opened since 2001 with an 18k credit line and it's not a signature card... weird
Since the credit limit is over 5k, I think your dad could upgrade it to a signature and it wouldn't cost him more than a phone call/visit and some time.
Congrats
What's the allure of the Signature branded card...?

Many added perks! You can check them out on the Visa webpage. One of which I just recently utilizied was the Auto Collision waiver on a rental car!
Congrats on the new card!
Thanks credit314 and sonson!
