Should I recon or just wait six months and hope for a$2k CLI? If so who do I contact? I don't deal with Capital One much
Great. I have a paid off major derogatory auto loan account that's hurting mu scores. But the reason i get denied of credit cards are high balances and too much new credit. Hopefully i can get the Marriott card one day and can get into BOA and Citi.
Awesome progress! Having high balances hurt a lot, a couple months back I used %80 on one card and it reported that amount, my scores all dropped 40pts!!! I was so mad for 30 days until it was reported 0 and they jumped back up again. Haha. I'm so crazy when it comes to my credit now, I pay attention to it and treat it like a baby. Citi took me almost a full year to get in with them but when I finally did they gave me my first signature card, my Thank You Preferred. Love my Marriott card, I got it about 4 months ago and I use it All the time. Beautiful and the free night a year is great. I think because of my many INQs on EX and my low AAOA (about 11 months) is the reason I get lower CLs. $3k is great on my new QS but I was hoping for $5k to get the signature card. What's crazy is last year I was just hoping to get approval from anyone and now I want Siggys and WEMCs lol. You will be there sooner than you think just make sure you are never late on payments and read these forums. Good luck
Do you mind asking, how many inquiries do you have on your EX/EQ? I know CITI is inquiry sensitive.
Believe it or not I only have 4 on my EQ but I have 38 on my EX reports (I know it's kind of embarrassing but that's who everyone pulls for me!!). I'm done as far as applying for cards though, now I'll garden and wait for these INQs to fall off and my cards to age. I'll also ask for sp CLIs along the way and eventually get rid of 4 cards next year. There's nothing else I want, finally haha. I was actually planning on waiting to apply for the QS until January but couldn't wait. Surprising Citi approved me with over 20 INQs the first time and over 30 just recently for my Aadvantage. Even all my Amex and my CSP and Marriott cards were all aproved with over 25 INQs. So sometimes they still approve with a lot of them. They do give lower limits though because of it, except my Aadvantage card who gave me $11k, so awesome.
CONGRATS on your Visa QS!!!
Congrats!!! Visa platinum it is! No bad at all!
Thanks everyone, still wish it was the signature version but something tells me I'll get it over $5k at the 6th month mark or at least by one year. Question is though, how hard will the Signature upgrade be to obtain once I have a $5k limit?
