I had a BoA secure card that graduated 3 years ago (I've had it for 5 years total) and it's just a normal Mastercard with no rewards so I figured I would convert it to something useful, I don't want to close it because it's one of my oldest cards.
So I ask about a PC and they offered to convert to a BoA Travel Rewards Visa or a rewards Amex, but they said the Amex required a $5k limit. My MC only has a $2.5k limit, I never bothered upping it as I just have it because it's old. Well I do a CLI request online and get an instant approval from $2.5k to $10k. After that I submit the request to convert. So they converted it to a Travel Rewards Amex.
It's I card I hardly use so it's nice to get a nice CL on it and now it actually has some benefits to it.

Congrats on your CLI
Will the card being an Amex be able to leverage me any history with Amex? Or is it just a stamp on the card that has no meaning really.
I was recently approved for a FNBO Amex card and from what I have read it has nothing to do with Amex other than being a FNBO card that rides on the Amex network. It wont have any bearing on building a relationship with Amex.

I know the feeling
From my own whole line up of CC's i seem to prefer turning to BofA and enjoy reaping their Cash Back Rewards. Personally might have a lot to do with US Bank keeping their Cash+ out of my reach
Congrats! on the long awaited surge ahead enough to land a decent one for you from them.
