Thanks guys. Without this board, I never would have even known they existed. Worked out well for me. Thank you for your insight.
Visa Signature cashRewards card.
Nice, congrats!
what kinda credit limits do you have besides this?
I have a CapOne Venture Rewards (3500)
Sam's (600)
A small Capone (500). I think it used to be Orchard Bank maybe)
A brand new Best Buy (2500)
I also have an Arvest Corporate Card (5000) but it never reports on my credit report.

lol damn did you PC your Cap One? That's a big jump from your credit other credit cards. Also I would drop Capital One Venture card since you got Navy =x Flagship Rewards is cheaper annual fee and samething with better customer service. Flagship = 1 point per purchase but Flagship's points are worth 2x. Or better yet use the Flagship as a reason to stop doing business with Capital one and try to recon them into raising your credit limits on it to match or exceed Navy
that is kind of what I was trying to do. I,ve had the CapOne since 08 after BK in 12/06. Started secured by 1000 for 1500 CL. About two years ago, they offered the PC and returned my deposit. I've asked for a CLI twice since with no luck. I use it excessively and often pay more than once a month so I can keep using and that one card totally controlled my credit score. I explained this to NFCU. For a long time, (until now, actually) I made the mistake of paying in full before statement date so always reported zero, but CapOne knew I used it a lot.
Congrats!!! Agree with others that this will be a perfect opportunity to move your cap 1 business over to NFCU flagship card!
Congrats OP!
I also just started with NFCU and opened a checking, savings, ira, credit card, and overdraft line of credit. I applied for and was approved for a refinance on my auto loan but they offered an interest rate of 4.99% and I currently receive 1.49% from PenFed so I withdrew my app.
The NFCU credit card I applied for was the Platinum VISA and it was approved with a $14,000 credit limit and 12.99% interest rate. The other cards that I have are:
Chase Amazon VISA ($2K limit)
Barclaycard Ring ($2K limit)
Discover IT ($1,200 limit)
Delta CU Visa ($500 limit)
Macys Store Card ($350 limit)
Kay Jewelers ($6000 limit)
As for the overdraft line of credit I requested $1000 and received that amount.
So you can see I was HIGHLY surprised when they approved the credit card for that much. Although I would have rather had a reduced APR instead of the increased CL. The Platinum NFCU card can have an APR as low as 7.99%. Thank goodness I only carry balances from time to time.
