I opened card 9/12 with $500 limit, rec'd a $150 cli via website within 4 months, then a month later I called backdoor number for an increase and they up'd it to $1k. I hate when they ask you how much you want, so you tell them, then they give it to you without hesitation and then you feel you should have asked for more lol. Wish there was some magic amount to ask for (double the current limit, maybe??) as a starting point.
I'm still in rebuilding stage, so I think I'm going to ask in a couple more months for another $1k, see what happens.
Wow...hopefully one day i will be there where you are at OP! Congrats!

Thanks! You have had some very nice increases as well - congrats on those! I have no doubt you will be at 10k the next time you call. Oh and you need to call them about your cash adv limit since it should be 20% of your limit as per their card agreement. Youngandcreditwrthy pointed out this flaw that can sometimes happen where they raise your overall limit but fail to bring up your cash adv limit.

That is exactly how I feel. I think you should try for $3,000 next time you ask.....or more. GE is way more generous that most companies. Good luck!!!
