Walmart increase

I thought the general consesnus was that GE/Walmart did increases every 3 months - (every quarter) either auto or at least would grant over the phone.

Do I have this number wrong - is it really 4 months or is it even longer in some instances?

About 3 days after my 3rd statment cut (about 2 weeks ago) I called and did the whole automation system for a CLI, no counter-offer just a "we can't offer any credit limit increase at this time - we'll send a letter". Got the letter yesterday and it said that I did not have enough time at the current credit limit.

What gives? Should I try again before/after the 4th statment cuts?

The only thing I can see as a "flag" would be I took up walmart on their interest free on electronics to buy a nice large TV back when I first got the card - I have about 2/3 of it paid off - I use the card every month additionally for about $50 and pay off the full 50 and then more towards the TV. So I've technically been carrying a balance - but its all been interest free.

Re: Walmart increase

It is every 4 months. If your looking for a CLI sooner around the 3 month timeframe id give this number 1 877 379 8173 a call this is GE Customer Solutions and **bleep** handle pretty much all of their retail cards except CareCredit AFAIK.

Re: Walmart increase

Thanks guys, Guess I was just a year too early. I have no desire to make any big purchases with it since I'm still paying off the TV and honestly I couldn't FIT a bigger TV in my house If I wanted to in the first place.

I think I'll try the luv button a week or so before the 4th cuts and then again right after if I'm not given one.

Re: Walmart increase

Approved in late Sept, got my card in Oct. first statement cut in Oct and I received an auto CLI of $100 first week of December (I called for Black Friday and was denied). Wasn't happy with the $100 increase, so I called and received and additional $200- making my new limit $1000 the amount I asked for- should have asked for $2000!

YMMV
