guess who closed her amex recovery card today! Strategy?

What is this backdating action that people are always talking about with AMEX? I can get them to backdate my card to the card I had in college in 1999?

Once you lock in your MSD (Member Since Date) the year of subsequent cc's will reflect your MSD.  Additional cc's*, will reflect the month of THAT card and the year of your MSD.  

If you are a primary cardholder, your CR's will be backdated as well.  Amex recently changed their policy to exclude the CR backdating for ACMs - when you become a primary, your CR's would be backdated for YOUR new cc. 

When calling asking for the change, do not use the word backdate.  Using that term, will get you nowhere, simply say your MSD is incorrect. 

*personal cards - business cards it's a YMMV

Thanks, only for $2000 though. Im sure because I burned them (but eventually paid back in full), they are being a little conservative to start. But thats ok!
