Ok, so I have a number of credit cards with various limits (see siggy). Of these, two are AMEX cards (1 BCE and 1 ED), I got aaproved for the BCE back in March, 2014 with a starting limit of $2,000. Then, in April of 2014, I applied for and was approved for the Everday card with a starting limit of $15,000! (much to my surpise!!). Anyhow, 3 months after having the BCE, I requested a 3x CLI and got it for $6,000 back in June (90 days after my initail approval). I have not yet requested a CLI for the ED card (and don't intend to, since the limit it about right where I want/need it).
Fast foward until today, I have had no late payments, have been making all of my payments on-time with PIF every month for all of my cards (including AMEX cards). My total overall utilization for all of my cards collectively is about 10%. I have two car loans that all have on-time payments as well, no lates. My score is around the 714-728 range (not quite sure which one AMEX does the soft pull for).
My question is what do you all think of my chances are of getting a 3x CLI for my BCE (To take it to $18,000) is? Dec 2nd will be 6 months since my last CLI on the BCE for this AMEX card. You're thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
This should help. Good Luck!

So based on this thread, it's unlikely that I will get the full 3x CLI to $18,000 (Since I had the full 3x CLI on my first request back in June)? AMEX will probably counter with an offer?

It's hard to say ask for 3x and find out, it mostly depends on your credit file.

We can guess but our guesses won't mean anything. Apply and see. If you don't qualify for the requested CLI they'll counteroffer.
Limits are determined by your credit, income and the creditor's criteria. Some think AmEx tops out at about 40% of income.

I'll give it a shot. No baddies on my file at all. Utilization at 10%. My credit line will still be under the combined $34,000 across the AMEX cards (based on that thread).

Yep, won't hurt. Nothing to lose.
