+1. Strange that you wouldn't want to call.

It's a fraud alert because you filed two applications.  Call them....

Exactly true. Takes a couple of minutes, they want to make sure "you is you".

Amex Blue was instanlty approved and for Everyday got this msg. I don't feel like calling them in. I am going on a vacation, I don't have the time to call them. Will they still process the application if I don't call them in?

" In order to provide you with an instant decision, we need to speak with you. We are available to assist you during our Hours of Operations: Monday-Friday 8AM to Midnight, Saturdays 9:30AM to 9PM, and Sundays 10AM to 9PM Eastern Time."

If you applied for both in a very short time, it could be their "Fraud Prevention" mechanism. They want to make sure it was YOU that applied for both. The process is relatively quick and painless. SImply answer some questions, and you'll get a decision. The same process happened to me - Approved for the SkyMiles Card and then EveryDay card I got (they need to speak with me). Spoke with them for 2 minutes and it was approved.

Re: American Express asking to call in?

Cool thanks for the reply... Enjoy your vacation and it sounds like most likely an approval.
