Chapter 7. My first app was in December for the prg and was instant decline. A month later I got in with two cards and a third a month later.

I've also read they look at the discharge date, but as another poster said, it is easy to forget they also factor in everything else. Obviously, each lender has their own set of rules. Glad those who are post BK got back in!

Hello people, i am almost in the same situation, I file for BK this April will be 5 years after I filed, Amex dinied me twice because of my BK, let me tell ya since my BK I been working hard rebuilding my credit I do have

Any hopes if I apply again and getting approve.

If anyone is genuinely interested in Amex try their pre-qualification. They're pretty spot on from my knowledge!

5 years post BK if you did not IBB Amex.

Pre quals are extremely rare wth a BK on record. There have been many online stories of 5 years post file date. Most play it safe and wait for 5 years post discharge. Let us know if you get in! My 5 years is coming up

My better half was preapproved for the BCE and BCP last month.  Approved for a starting SL of $2,000 on the BCE.  She's almost 4 years post BK.  She didn't include AMEX in her BK and her FICO on the letter AMEX sent out was 672 EX.
