I've been dying waiting out the 5 years until the end of Ch13 bk to get an Amex BCE card. Now that I have finished all my trustee payments, I am ready to apply. I heard that Amex approves 5 years after the filing date but does it matter if I am not discharged as of yet? They were not a part of my bankruptcy and I do not get offers on the prequalify site.

I had a Ch 13 Bk. * didn't do anything until well after I physically had that Discharged Order from the Bankruptcy Judge, after Trustee blessing.
What you are expressing is a desire to have what you want.
Before you shoot your self in the foot, and alienate & "upset" the Trustee, absolutely do NOTHING until you have their expressed written permission.
Otherwise, please enjoy what ever displeasure you bring upon yourself. ! ! !
I would wait until your credit reports show your BK as being discharged.
Ok, guys. I'll wait the extra month or so until I'm discharged. Grumble, grumble, grumble. I've had permission to rebuild from my attorney since the start of the bk so I've got a pretty decent credit history post-filing. Thanks for the advice.

I did the same thing. After graduating college and becoming and RN I started making good money (filed BK while I was still in school). They increased my monthly payment to the trustee but that was expected. During that same time I start aquiring new credit. I know I wasn't supposed to but I did it anyway. I figured if the trustee found out then I'd deal with whatever was to come...but fortuntately for me he didn't. For the last 3 years of my 5 year BK13 I carried scores from the mid to high 600's. By the time I was discharged I had enough history and 3 years of stellar payments that I was able to obtain pretty decent cards. I have almost $200k in available credit, and my only store cards are Amazon and Lowes. My BK13 is still on reports and will be for another year or so. Even still with the BK13 on my reports I have cards from a lot of the bigger banks...PenFed, NFCU, Chase, BOA, Citi, Amex, CapOne and Discover.
Best of luck to you as you finish the last stage of your BK13.
Thanks, Loquat.
Ok. I have now been discharged and my credit reports all indicate so. Am I now ok to apply??

I would say yes. I waited a few weeks after the discharge showed on my reports before applying for anything. If it shows discharged on your reports you should be good to go. It looks like from the cards in your sig that you've already acquired some cards. Is that the case or did you have those cards pre-BK?
They were all acquired by rebuilding during CH13.
