It was $17. I joined PenFed and got the platinum rewards card with 5k CL. Not great, but I got my foot in the door.
Unfortunately I still have the same problem I started with, that I can't do the balance transfer I need to do without maxing out one of my cards. But I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Call them and asked for more on your card. Explain the situation, they are known to increase SLs quickly. I went from $14k to $28k in less than a month.

Thanks. I'll try that. I noticed 5K was the minimum limit, so I don't think they looked too favorably on my credit report, but it's worth a shot.
