Approved- I Discovered, it!

Well, today I decided to app for Discover's it card and was approved for the student version with what I consider a generous credit limit. While waiting for my instant decision I was redirect to a page saying "The page you requested could not be found, please contact Discover." The woman with whom I spoke was very kind and stated that I had been approved for the card with a CL of $4,000! While I know some individuals might not see this as a "good" limit, I must say I am very happy considering I have only seven months of credit history and am a student with relatevely low income. Anyway I thought I would post my sucess story; I have been wanting this card for about two months (recieved three pre-approved offers for "it") and decided to wait untill just the "right" time.

Stats at time of app:

4% Utiization

$6,000 income

Seven months of spotless history

Only card on credit profile- 1FBUSA- $1,500 CL

Long story short, I really wanted the card, showed some disclipin and waited to apply until I would have the "upper hand". My patients was certainly rewarded. I think I may garden my two cards... Thoughts?

I've been with them for 15 months and my credit limit is only $1300!. I started at $800 and they automatically increased mine to 1300. $4000 limit is awesome!!! I think it's time for me to make a call for a new CLI. (:

Also, IMHO, yes I think a 6 month to a year stay in the garden

would be very wise for you, let these accounts age,

they should serve you very well !!

Wow!! Discover sure is a weird one!! I sock drawer them for not giving me any CLI's lol

Oldest account is 7 years (AOAA 3 years)

Had card 6 months and my overall UTI is 4%  (800$ 2 cards cards out of 21k limits)

They denied me a CLI lol FSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Congrats

IMHO Discover seems to be HIGHLY unpredictable. Perhaps my CL has something to do with my student status?? I would have thought Discover would have asked for income or academic verification, I suppose it is one of those YMMV situations...

4k with Disco to start even on a non student card is very good, Congrats! Consider chilling and developing some good history while accounts age for circa 12 months.
