Well I called to request a limit increase on by 12 year old Bank of America card. I was denied stating that my history with bank of america (despite being perfect) has no impact on their decision to approve or decline CLI. The analyst stated that it was because of late payments on several other creditors that they could not approve my request. The late payments were from paid C/O accounts from 2012. :/ Ohh well. Just thought I would share. My current limit is $500. My limit in 2012 before I defaulted on other cards was $2500. I paid down the balance on my BOA and they chopped the limit. Asked for $1000 total limit. BOA doesn't seem to show any favor for its loyal customers. Cap1 is going to become my new best friend I guess...

Well the fact that the late payment is from a CO is saying something. 2012 is pretty recent in the creditor's eyes

Actually, I get the same shabby treatment from Bank of America. I don’t have any charge offs. No judgments. No bankruptcy. But, I had several lates on a couple of accounts (not my BoA credit card) – the most recent late is from 2011. I have always had perfect PIF payment on my BoA credit card. I have had 100% on-time payments on all my other accounts since Jan 2011.
My original limit with BoA was $2,000. I opened the card in 2003. My limit was slashed to $400 and has been stuck there for years. I wasted a few HPs trying to get an increase. I refuse to ask ever again! I have much better cards and wouldn’t use theirs even if I had a usable credit line.
Why do I keep it? Because it’s old. I’ll let it sit unused until they close it.
(edit for typos)
BofA really hate lates and baddies
My point exactly, ojefferyo!
And they really hated to stick their hand out for bail out money too.....
