Re: Backdoor Numbers

Called "AmEx: 800-230-1284 (Account Services - handles accounts with issues)" and the line basically just says (automated) "You have reached credit and collections" and suggests that I hang up since I have no collections. If you say "Speak to a representative" you get thrown into the regular queue so I'm not sure this line does what we have it listed as.

I was trying to reach a "Credit Limit Increase Specialist" and a CSR gave me the following number: 800-576-8942. Dialing this number gives you someone in "New Accounts" can't call right now to verify that they can help me but will update my post when I know one way or another.

Running in circles.

Update: Apperently this number is the correct number to call if you have a question about a CLI that maybe hasn't gone through (income verification). The lady did seem a little confused and put me on hold for a while but finally came back with the answer I was looking for.

Re: Backdoor Numbers

Does anyone have a backdoor number for Valero?  I want to try a recon.  The number on the list doesn't seem to take one to credit analysts.

Thanks!

Thank you for this helpful info! Saved me a lot of time! I too had some specific questions. I was really hesitant to request a CLI but others with new accounts since June 2015 were able to request one as well, so I figured why bother. Anyway, no counter offers for me, and that is A' OK. Glad they approved me for $5k in the first place.

Its true from what I have been seeing. More than 5 new accounts is 2 yrs is reason for denial. Only way to get a card with them with more than 5 new accounts over 24 months is to get auto approved.
