Re: Barclay CC let's put our heads together

Update and possible data point.................I posted earlier in the week that my husband applied for the Arrival card and was declined with the letter stating due to his having a past account included in BK, they did not even pull his credit, it was an internal decline, according to the letter they sent. This afternoon he was on Priceline.com and applied for their Visa and was instantly approved for $500. He went to recon and come to find out, it was a Barclay's card. We did not know this so we were shocked that he was approved for a Barclay's card right after being declined without even a credit pull just a week earlier. He spoke with a rep and after a sp and a few questions, they increased his starting limit to $2500.

So, it looks like the internal decline was only for the Ring and Arrival cards, the other cards that are branded are still possible if you have an internal decline due to past negative history with them. The rep told him after 2 years of history with the Rewards card (he is at 1 year now) that they will consider lifting the internal decline and possibly approve him for an Arrival or Ring card, which according to him are the only other true Barclay's cards beside the Rewards card he already has.

Not sure if this is important but I thought I would share anyways.

Re: Barclay CC let's put our heads together

Actually, my husband is a dingbat, that is what made him choose it. I am the one that normally decides which cards we are going to have but he went rogue on me this morning! LOL Smiley Very Happy He saw the numbers 5% and 10% and lost his marbles, he did not bother to read what those percentages actually applied to. SMH

Re: Barclay CC let's put our heads together

Today I called the Barclays Backdoor number to request a cli and the girl told me she couldn't do it without a hard pull because I've only had 7 statements.  I thought they were a soft pull, am I wrong?  Should I call back for another analyst?

Re: Barclay CC let's put our heads together

Barclay is usually a hard starry. I think there is a soft pull CLI thread floating around though. Haven't ever really looked into it. Something about calling and asking specifically for a soft pull CLI. Hang in there it will grow, maybe you will get some auto luv soon Smiley Happy

Re: Barclay CC let's put our heads together

Today is my 6mo statement date but so far I haven't seen an increase, nor my statement yet..  Still hoping for a 6 mo CLI anytime now..

Re: Barclay CC let's put our heads together

I've had my card just over a year and have gone from $1,500 to $9,000 on auto luv. Barclay seems to like usage.
