@Divaofsongs wrote:UPDATE: I called to see if I could get my starting limit on the UPromise card increased and they agreed to increase it to $500, which is double the $250 limit I was approved for. I really wanted at least $1300, which was my starting limit on the rewards MC but I will take it. I did find out some interesting information though and some GREAT NEWS........
I asked the analyst to check my rewards card and see why I had not received an auto CLI on my card in the year that I had it and he said that some cards have that feature turned on and others don't. It is on their end and something that is normally turned on but sometimes, for no particular reason, the system will not turn on the feature for some new card accounts and if it is not turned on from the beginning, your chances of an auto CLI are ZERO. He put me on hold and checked on mine and then came back and told me that the feature was NOT turned on for my rewards card so he changed it. He said now the system would check periodically to see if I qualify for auto CLI's. I have never heard of this before. He said if I qualify, the system will automatically increase my CL in the near future. I asked him if he had not turned it on whether I would ever get a CLI and he said no, only if I request it but now that the feature is turned on, I would probably receive an auto CLI, based on my past history, usage, and score.
When I hung up the phone, I logged on to my rewards account online and THEY GAVE ME AN AUTO INCREASE FROM $1300 TO $3900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy to finally have the auto CLI I have waited on for a year. I wish I had known that there was a feature that had to be turned on for this to occur. If I had known, I would have called a long time ago! The analyst said if I had called after the 6 month mark, they would have checked to see if the feature was on or not for me. Hindsight is 20/20!
For those who have not received an auto CLI within the first 6-12 months, maybe this is something you can call and check on to see if it is not even turned on in the system.
The analyst also said that I was very lucky to have been approved for a UPromise World MC with only 18 months since my chapter 7 BK discharge and that the card would grow with me if I proved my creditworthiness. He said if I use it the same way I did the reward card, I should see a substantial increase in the CL over the next 12-18 months, but of course there are no guarantees. My TU FICO was 714 at the time they pulled it on Sat. When I got the rewards MC last Feb, it was 623, so I raised it almost 100 points in a year.
Just to confirm, was it the Recon number that you called?
Yes, it was the recon number.

Woohoo! Called and spoke to an analyst and they restored by credit limit back to $3500! They wouldn't do a CLI without an HP so I respectfully declined, but I'm happy to be back to my old limit at least. My CC debt went from $3k to $30k in the 2 years I've had the card, so yea I understand why they decreased me but at least they made it right. Hopefully I'll get a CLI at some point in the future once the CC balances are paid down -__-
Congrats.. This is the second or third time recently I have heard of them reversing their CLD decision and restoring peoples previous credit lines.
Opened NFL rewards account on Jan 18, 2014 with SL @ $500. HP CLI on Aug 26, 2014 and CLI to $1000.
First 6 months charged and PIF 3 months. Since then carry balance between $400 - $500. Run $320 to $450 per month.
NO CLI since Aug 2014.
Recdently app'd for another rewards card and was declined. Most likely for too many new accounts.
Waiting to see if auto CLI happens on statement cut date of Feb 15th.

Did you ask for a recon? Barclay is just about the best when it comes to recon.
Arrival+ turned a year old and no CLI for me.. I am thinking it was the US Airways approval that ruined my chances.
App Date: 8/13/2014
Spree: 7 New Accounts (Last App: 12/2014)
Auto-CLI: $1,000 > $1,500 at 6 Months ($500 CLI)
I used 0% for the first 6 months and carried a $40-$70 balance each month. I have one recurring bill charged to it monthly. Use it often for gas. Expected AA, actually with the amount of new accounts and how muche everyone said Barclay was scared of new accounts. Not the biggest bump ever but, I'll always welcome auto CLI!
No auto-love here! I've had the card a little over six months and my sixth statement cut yesterday still stuck at 1,300!
