Chase Amazon Visa Denied- Recon?

Hello everyone.

So I applied for the Amazon Visa Signature card 6 days ago and recieved a letter in the mail today stating that I was denied because of "Not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history." I currently have an Amex (authorized user) for the past 10 months with a Fico of 679 and a (very) small income since I am a student with a part-time job. Is it reasonable to recon in this case?

Re: Chase Amazon Visa Denied- Recon?

You can try, but I don't think it'll help. Their response was accurate. You don't have any experience of credit history. Less than a year as an authorized user isn't much. For your first card you should aim for a card that is designed for people with limited credit, not a card designed for those with long histories and good scores. Try some sort of student card. A small income shouldn't hurt and the limited experience you have as an authorized user will help too.
