I am a victim of identity theft and Equifax has been horrible to deal with. They refuse to delete anything, so I locked that credit report while I prepare to sue them. My TU and EX are all cleaned up and my scores are over 750. So I applied for a CLI, under the impression that they'll pull another bureau since Equifax is locked but to my shock I was denied. Called for a recon and the man told me why...massive chargeoffs and collections and a score in the 500s. I double checked and Equifax is indeed locked so the only way they could know what's in my Equifax report is via a soft pull. Scary (or maybe that's a good thing?)
But you can request that they pull another bureau...the analyst pulled the other two and saw that I do have great credit and granted me the CLI. From $6,000 to $15,000!
Congrats! Thanks for sharing.
congrats! as well
and sorry to here about the EQ nightmare, hopfully it will be worked out soon
nice CLI also
congrats
This may not be your case here but I'm pretty sure existing creditors can pull through your freeze. Just FYI.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it probably was a hard pull for the other bureaus?

Only locked for new pulls- existing can pull soft or hard - at least what I have read from others - simply posting what I have seen and not personally know
+1 correct its called permissible permission and all your current lenders can pull your account
I thought 99.999% of the time a customer initiated CLI request with Chase WILL result in a HP. Having a bureau locked that they attempt to pull would then result in no HP but no CLI even if you have perfect credit?
