Citi can be odd at times, when I got my DC back in 2015 it was the last card I got on my app spree and I had quite a few inquiries and was approved.

I got denied for the Citi Double Cash too! I have a variety of other premiere cards and Citi gave me the same explanation-- going to wait 4-5 months after my newbies have reported and reapply! Good luck to you with getting the Citi Double Cash Card!

I agree that Citi can be kind of odd. When I applied for my Citi DC card, I had at least 15 to 18 inquires, a ton of new accounts, and my score was somewhere in the range of 660 to 680 I believe.

I got mine with a 636, ton of inquiries and new accounts under a year old. Denied 1st time around for too many inquiries, waited 6 months approved.

I'd say try again @ 6 months. Seems to be no rhyme or reason.

I got approved for a DC with a double pull of EQ 626 and EX 609 in December. With around 6 inqs on EX and 11 on EQ. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason as to why these lenders act the way they do.

i was denied too for citi dc , waiting for the letter. good to know that i am not missing a lot not having this card i only have 7 months credit history, and bofa unsecured my card and gave 7000 limit from 1500$
