Citi SP CLI.. weird

So about 1-2 weeks ago I checked my TYP and they offered me a soft-pull CLI, I had a message saying: "It's easy to find out if you qualify for a credit limit increase. A credit bureau report will not be requested and you will receive an instant decision."

I decided to go for it and was approved for the CLI. Checked the form again right after and said if I tried, I'd get hard pulled.

Fast foreward to today, I check that same form again and it says that I won't be hard pulled if I request, again. Is this something that's normal? I don't want to pull the trigger at all because I feel like I won't get it, and would rather save the SP CLI for later when I feel like I stand a chance instead of wasting it.

Anyone experiance something like this with CITI?

Re: Citi SP CLI.. weird

Do you pull the trigger whenever possible?

Re: Citi SP CLI.. weird

You can request SP CLI every 6 months, I have done it many many times.

Re: Citi SP CLI.. weird

So just to be clear you can have a shot at a CLI every 6 months, but the form will let you submit for one at random times. right?

Re: Citi SP CLI.. weird

I believe you can submit it whenever but you will only actually get approved every 6 months, similar to Capital One.

Re: Citi SP CLI.. weird

Citi will auto deny if you already had an increase in the last six months.

Re: Citi SP CLI.. weird

I got it this SP CLI notice after about a month of getting my HP CLI. I tried and was told I cannot be approved for another CLI within 6 months of a CLI. So SP or HP it does not matter, only thing that matters is one CLI every 6 months.

Re: Citi SP CLI.. weird

Yup. I still have the SP CLI button despite the fact that it's been less than six months since I got my last one.
