Different Underwriting for AAdvantage Platinum vs. Executive?

Hi.  I recently got approved for Citi plat WEMC with 4k SL.  Any chances I'd be approved for Exec or is underwriting different?

Yes, you can apply for the Executive Card and more than likely it will be at least 5K

What were your scores when you app'd?  Did you have any other cards with them before?

I just got the Citi AA WMC, not the WEMC version.  My scores were 760-785 at the time, I think they were all bankcard scores.  I got 17.99% and a 10K limit.  I had the Dividends cards with them for over a year before that.  I think they appreciate relationships, in some ways like Chase does.  My Dividen card did not start out with much of a limit and has barely seen any use, but they have raised it up when I have asked to about $6500, sot the AA card limit was appreciated.  The only thing is the $3000 spend to get the 50K bonus miles, a bit annoying and I was trying to figure out how to get it done.  I did figure out that, since I bought a new car I put the deposit on the card and will put 6 months of insurance on it, so that will take up at least half the requirement there.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

You should be good.  Citi makes you wait between apps I believe, I think it's only one app every 30-60 days, can't remember which one.  I'm not sure if you mean you where approved on the pre-qual screen or actually applied and got approved for it.  I was pre-approved for the TY Premier and never had the Prestige on my pre-qual but went for it anyway and got it.

I think I'm going to wait.  My profile has changed since I got the plat card (like the upgrade to Walmart MC and CLI from US Bank) so I want the dust to settle a bit before I app.
