Assuming you display good credit habits, how good is Discover at increasing limits on NEW accounts?
Discover like usage and they don't shy away when you go to 30-40% of your limit, they like to see you using their card.

Always thought discover was conservative in regards to utilizing available credit.

I agree with the comment above. When I was using my Discover Card quite a bit, and carrying a balance, they increased my limit quite a bit. Now that I have no balance and only use the card every coiple of mobths, they don't love me so much.
Thanks for the affirmation.

Absolutely 100%
Bucking the trend; I received a 3k CLI about 2 weeks ago after opening the account in September of 2014. I ran on average of about 200 each month, except for x-mas. I have always PIF'd before statment cut.
I agree with the previous comments. They seem to like usage. I opened my account a year and a half ago, using the card for a couple of big purchases, got a cli upon request at the 6 month mark, and then got an auto cli about a month ago. Limit went from $1,500-$3,000-$5,900. So my limit has gotten a 4x increase (almost) in the 18 months I've had the card.
i had to ask for a CLI and it was only $500.
it was a SP though

Limit before the cli?
