Nope, you do not. I will add though that you can’t apply for the Altitude Reserve unless you have some existing  relationship with them such as a bank account or another credit card.

DW got the cash plus with them a few months ago.  No other accounts with US Bank. Limit was not so hot  $4K.  Wanted a $5 to $10K more in line with her other cards

Re: Do I need to have a US Bank checking account to apply for credit card?

Ive seen quite a few people that do not have an account getting a cash+, or plat and all of them had a low SL. I have 5 bank accounts, and a mortgage with them and they have been very generous with the SL for me. 18k for one, and 20k for the other to start. YMMV. Let us know what you get if you do apply. Good Luck!!

As a data point, I had no previous relationship with U.S. Bank and back in December I was approved for the Cash+ with a credit line of $7.5k, which for me isn't too bad.
