Experian and denials x 3!

My scores have improved greatly within last 2 mos. I've even gotten 3 collections and one old closed neg. account removed! Now in low 600's on both EQ. and TU. Experian however does not love me, still in 500's with them. I decided to try and app for a higher limit card. I searched for which cards pull TU/EQ as they have my highest scores. Tried Paypal, Amazon rewards and Walmart. Wouldn't you just know all 3 pulled Experian!!! I got instant denials from Walmart and Paypal. 30 day notice from Chase/Amazon rewards. which will propably result in a denial though they pulled both EX and EQ. Disappointed to say the least. Will head to the garden and try again 6 mos. down the road. I thought about trying for credit union but now don't have inquiry to waste. Suggestions welcomed.

Re: Experian and denials x 3!

Your scores still need to come up quite a bit. It's going to take time. Wait a few months and then try another Cap One card. They are good for rebuilding credit. I'm not sure if you'd quality for a Venture card but you may have a shot at Venture One or Quicksilver. Good luck!

I would go with the Discover it secured card, you have to put a deposit but they send it back in 9 months I believe. Charge it and pay if off. Worked for me when I was rebuilding.

Re: Experian and denials x 3!

Thank-you! That's what the Chase recon line person told me as well. Reason for denial was because credit isn't old enough. Was told what I have is good and looks good but that it's just too new. Now that I've had a chance to lick my wounds, the positive I take away from this experience is..
1. my score in itself is no longer a drawback!
2. if I keep doing what I'm doing(thanks to advice taken from this forum) I'll be golden in a few more months and platinum after about a year!
3. waiting isn't going to kill me! I waited 21 years for my first drink! lol

Re: Experian and denials x 3!

Thanks for the advice! I do have the Discover secured and I love them btw. Just haven't had it or anything else long enough to matter. Hoping to see it unsecure this year!

Re: Experian and denials x 3!

Keep in mind that Chase will always pull Experian. In addition, they'll probably ice the cake by pulling one of the other two bureaus.

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this information. I have the app itch but trying desperately to wait it out a while longer. My cards are young too.

Sorry for your denials. I’m sure after quality time gardening your score will improve and so will your card options. Hang in there.
