Some use the fico 08 scores on my fico it the most common score .most large banks uses fico scores and then they tweak them for there needs .so fico scores are very important .if your fico score is good .then your proprietary score should be good too
That's my point. The scores didn't match up at all - the score Synchrony gave me was a 411 and the myfico site is showing my TU Fico 8 score at a 645.

they use a custom score on my walmart app 100-599 nfcu uses 1 100- 450 alsoI just got off the phone with a TU CSR and he told me the same thing - that the creditors pull our info but then use that info to score us on THEIR scoring module. He also said that TU doesn't do "FICO" scores, that they do the Vantage scores.
So now I'm completely confused! I thought that creditors pulled our CB files AND scores and used THOSE scores to make their determinations. If that's not the case then it seems that there's absolutely no reason to know all of these FICO scores.
Yes,
TransUnion is standardized on VantageScores. Last year I purchased a 3B score from TU and they were VantageScores - which I knew as they state as much on their web site.
As for the score that was reported to you in the letter, only the creditor can tell you. Also, it is true that creditors may use a base score from Fico or VantageScore and then "adjust" it based on their internal model. If they are reporting their internally modified score, you have no basis for comparison. See below for an example based on an earlier VS2 model.

Thank you
When I talked to the lady at Synchrony, she was very off putting and insistent that I call TU for an explanation.
FYI -
You can get your TransUnion and Equifax VantageScore 3.0 free through Credit Karma. I'd recommend you go to creditkarma.com and sign up to get your VantageScores.
