Got approved for AMEX .. Tried the 61 day 3x Denied.

As the title says

Got approved for BCP

Only $1000 limit

I have 6k with chase

Bank of america 2k

discover is 4k

I put $4000 through the AMEX (paid it as often as the system let me)

Always paid in full

Every card I have is paid in full

Got the message for 4 or 5 day wait

Got denied in the mail

Reasons are

not enough accounts in good standing (I have 6 credit cards and 1 auto loan.. no accounts past due)

Time since delinquent to soon (I have a late 6 months ago. 30 day late)

My credit score was 654 at the time

Yes.. It is my fault for the denial..

just a heads up for those that were borderline on approval what you may expect for a CLI

Well, that sucks. I have similar circumstances and I will hit the 61 day mark in early Oct.

sjt - do you recall if Optima got a CLI after 12 months or 13th month? 1 year anniversary is coming up so I wanted to move on past 500 limit. (Sorry OP I hijacked your thread)

After 12 months. You should go ahead and request an increase its only a sp.

Try again in 90 day increments until you get one

I did that couple of months ago and denied it saying too much credit in use(AU card has usage my cards are under 1% usage on one card rest of them 0 keeping that card because of age for now but plan to remove it by next year) .

Also listed was low scores and derogatory items. I will give it a try. Any time after 12 months is okay?

I remember you mentioned that in another thread. I would have done a recon because the utilization was based on AU. Since you reports have changed alot since you last applied I would go ahead and apply for another product and/or CLI. Its only a SP and if you get denied then I would recon it.

So I called them this morning to see why it is denied (tried chat for CLI) and they said you have active recovery product and we can't process the CLI till you have it. This is contradictory to what has been discussed. I think they won't give me a CLI till next month or so.
