Not Sure if this is the right forum for this. But Im 24 and i just started recently trying to aquire Credit Cards to build credit. I got approved for Fingerhut and Kay Jewelers. Cap one wants a deposit on there Walmart denied me Tjmax denied me Best buy denied me. Any other offers i should try. PS: Cap one sent me a offer in the mail and i typed it in oline and refilled out the app and got denied ..
Maybe try the shopping cart trick online at stores like Victoria Secret, Buckle or J crew to name a few. These stores are backed by Comenity Bank and if you meet their credit criteria a pre approval pop up will appear after you add some items to your cart and hit checkout then when you enter your name and billing address a pre approval will appear. Just search shopping cart trick and you will see numerous threads about how it works. The preapprovals do not result in a hard pull (inquiry) on your credit report which could effect your score.

For starters, what does your credit profile look like? Let's start with scores on all 3 bureau's.

Nixon, I like your post. Without a credit profile and a strategy, the answers won't make much of a difference.
Welcome to the forums!
+1 to Nixon's request for more background.
Most likely you will want to follow up with Capital One to open a secured credit card. It is one of the more common methods to get started with credit cards that are not store cards.
