Re: Most Up To Date Preapproval Sites?

If you want the Venture check that you're interested in travel benefits. Checking to see if you qualify is a soft pull but applying is 3 hard pulls

Re: Most Up To Date Preapproval Sites?

Discover Prequalify - https://www.discovercard.com/application/prequal?execution=e1s1

American Express - https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/check-for-offers/

Chase - I can’t get that link to work currently.

Barclaycard does not have a US prequalify or pre-approval link. Though based on your scores scores, lack of inquires, and new accounts, they’ll likely approve you for any of their cards. They are generally a Transunion only pull.

Discover has given great starting limits recently. Obviously, income will factor in alongside your great scores. AMEX can also give very generous starting lines as can Chase.

The Venture (with AF) has given very high starting lines as of late around the MF boards. Expect a 3-Bureau pull and be thankful if it’s less than that. On the churning boards last month, there were tons of denials based on recent inquiry activity/new opened accounts by Capital One. That seems to have been associated with their signup bonus increase to 50,000 and AF reduction to $59. The denials have cooled off as of late. Not applicable to you unless you app Capital One after you’ve applied 4-5 times elsewhere.

Good luck with your mini-spree.

Thanks for that info. Does Discover have any particular products that are trending higher?

Re: Most Up To Date Preapproval Sites?

I haven’t seen any recently approaching $20K. However, I’ve seen several in the $8.5 - $12K range since October for the Discover it. Almost all of the approvals had a lower credit score range than you.

Chase is known for solid pre-quals, so I would start there if you are new to them.

Mine show a specific APR which in an indicator its pretty reliable.

I've also had luck with Capital One.

Some of the major contributors here probably have more data on a wider array of banks.

Thanks. Do you know if you can get that Cap 1 Venture with just one or two inquiries?

Also, does anyone know a way to check Barclay Card preapproval offers?

I know I've seen it said before that capital one will approve an application with one of the three major bureau reports frozen (I think you have to have at least 2 available though, no more than 1 frozen)

Also I've seen quite a few us bank prequal threads lately, I'm not sure how generous their starting limits tend to be but I actually got a few preapproved offers through them myself recently so I'm sure you'll get at least a few solid offers since your profile and scores are much better than mine, https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/index.html (there should be a button right by the top that says 'see if you're prequalified')

Edit: here's a couple more current prequal links I don't think anyone's posted here yet -

Citi - https://www.citicards.com/cards/credit/application/flow.action?isInvitation=Y#

Chase (this one isn't working for me currently either but maybe they'll have it up again at some point) - https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/pre-qualified

Bank of America (not sure if this is an actual prequal tool, it's worded as 'customized offers' or something like that, if anyone knows firsthand I'd be curious to know) - https://secure.bankofamerica.com/secure-offers/public/customizedOffers/

Ooh I forgot they do that part as a special session thing that times out, here's the link to the page where you get to the prequal tool: https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/index.html

I'll edit my original post to have that link instead, the thing for 'see if you're prequalified' should be right by the top of the page

Re: Most Up To Date Preapproval Sites?

How reliable is the US Bank preapprovals? I've been pre approved for the cash+ and cash 365.

Re: Most Up To Date Preapproval Sites?

From what I’ve gathered, the US Bank Cash+ SL is $500 and it requires a call to get a higher starting line. This occurs on the same hard pull.

Regarding Capital One, there are definitely folks that have only received one or two hard pulls but that is not the norm. If you left one frozen and received a declined due to it being frozen, that would result in two meaningless hard pulls. I’m not sure it’s worth it to attempt to preserve hard pulls with Capital One by keeping one of the bureaus frozen. I certainly would make sure Equifax was off ice.
