So i asked for $20k on crewards and got it instantly. Also appd for cli from $5k to $10k on navcheck, but got credit decision usually made in an hour, so we will see.
So? Inquiring minds want to know what happend with NavCheck!
Congrats on your other CLI's!!!
I gotta ask this,
How soon after a 4 month CLI, do I take the chance and ask again?
To avoid starting a new topic, can anyone answer whether or not I have to use the NFCU member mall to take advantage of their rewards program? I've signed up already but not sure if I can go to let's say, Holiday Inn's website to book a stay or must I access it through the member mall. Thank you.
I dont want to jack this thread but since everyone here is a member I thought I would ask....
When you app for NFCU for the membership and a CC, does your FICO go up or down? The CC is a new account so does it drop your score? I've heard mixed things about score going up and down so I'm not sure. I just finally crossed the 700 mark and I will CRY if it drops again lol.

Inquiries at best hurt 0, and they may drop your score depending on your specific inquiry count and bucket.
New credit cards help if your number of revolving tradelines is below around two; this is the mix of credit function at work. Anecdotally we know 1 is too few to maximize this, but the jury is out on 2 vs. 3. I'm inclined to state 2 as installment tradelines appear to work the same way. Noah's Arc of FICO, 2 x 2 is goodness.
New credit cards will drop your AAoA, which may or may not impact your score.
Other than the near thin file situation where adding accounts is absolutely beneficial, a new account is never a positive as far as FICO goes. AU's and Amex backdating are outliers, but neither apply in this scenario.
OMG! I was emboldened by this thread, and decided to press the LUV button for my cashRewards. It's been just over two months (account I believe was opened on 3/6). Submitted the info and asked for 1800 (from 1500) and passed the SECOND confirmation screen. BAM. Instant approval!!!
So excited, tempted to ask for more LOL.
I have 3 CC's and 2 student loans that are in defferment. Does that count as a thin file? lol
I thought having more accounts was better for credit. ? I got that from Credit Karma, since my "number of accounts" grade is an F. hahahha. It shows the more you have the higher grade you have. Confusing.
Sitori when I got my 20K NRewards card approved on 5/12/13 my EQ was 660 and with the HP it is now 653 but I know when it reports my score will go up and every month it gets older my scores will improve allong with the age. So for me, it was worth the HP.

You only asked for 1800? You deserve a cyber uppercut! Log back in and ask for a large testicle sized increased like 15K increase!
