NFCU Rocks! Thank you for sharing. Can't wait till my 3rd statement cuts.
WHOAAAA! Thats awesome. I only have a signature visa and navcheck with NFCU.....you are tempting me, maybe I should try for another card. I hear great things about their other products.
I forgot to add this when I did it! Silly me!
I got an nRewards card in maybe Nov 2012 and received my first CLI in January. I was feeling frisky and asked for an increase to 6K on Friday. When I logged in on Saturday, there it is! I'm so stoked! I keep logging in to look at it because it seems so surreal.
I clicked the link to go into the Member Mall and did not realize alllllllllllll the stores you could get extra points in! I ordered some stuff from Sephora.com for my husbands birthday this coming Saturday. Saves me a trip to the mall AND I get 6x points!!! I'm also thinking of getting him some headphones from Bestbuy.com (2x points) and using the store pickup option. I love NFCU! I'm going to use this card for EVERYTHING!
Creditaddict...are you asking me?
Ive had the visa since late november...just recently asked for a conversion to signature $15K and Navcheck $10K
I figured I'd add my story here. Yep, first post, but been lurking a while as I clean up my credit. I have a number of bad history TL's from >2 years ago, including a student loan default that I've since rehabilitated. The student loans are the most numerous of my bad history since it is broken down into 19 trade lines. :-/ I also have a satisfied judgment in 2011 from a medical bill. Basically, my son passed away and debt was furthest from my mind so I let everything go to the wayside. He would have been 10 this year. Sad story aside, I have 3 other cards - 3800 from Barclay, 1300 from Cap1, and 1500 from Chase (Amazon). EQ through Scorewatch is 665. I have recently paid off my other cards, but I know only 1 is reporting 0 balance, the others are up at about 70% util. After everything reports, I will be at roughly 2-3% util.
I joined NFCU today through my brother who is active Marines. I applied for a cashRewards almost immediately after setting it up and... instant approval for $21,000 limit. I was quite literally blown away. Never in my life had a limit that high. I tried a NavCheck but got the hour review. No big deal, and I assume I won't hear anything until Monday, but I'll repost back with the results. My intention is to let this settle, possibly try for an auto refinance in a month or so since the rate on my auto is insane. After that, sitting tight for a year when we plan on purchasing a new house. I make good money, 6 figures.
Anyway, I know how everybody loves a good success story, so here's mine. Thanks to everybody for their posts to this thread, and a big toast to second chances. :-)

May not be Monday. I applied for LOC last Friday for the BF and we replied and sent documents all through the weekend with NFCU, $10k line of credit. Applied for full $15k and they countered. Also applied for flagship and he got $8500 instant approval. His fico EQ 656. Got credit letter thing in mail from NFCU today and they had 656 listed so very accurate from myfico.
I find it hard to believe that you are all military or have family retired/active duty.
How are you guys getting 'in' with NFCU? Is there a loophole? I'm in with PenFed but they are no where near the level of NFCU unless you're > 780 FICOs.
What gives?
No loopholes. You don't get to be a world superpower by having a small military.
The US DOD is the largest employer in the world. There's over 3 million people (including active reserves and civilian employees) employed by the DOD currently according to Wikipedia. As a frame of reference, we have less Wal Mart or McDonald's workers in the US.
